Outside Sales Representative

Essential Job Duties:
This position has direct sales responsibilities and requires continual communication, developing and maintaining solid working relationships with existing and potential customers, while influencing them to buy EEC products and services. Customers include but are not limited to I/T Professionals, Building managers, Property managers and Facility Managers,  Electrical & Mechanical Contractors and Consulting Engineers.

  • Solicit, Develop, and Close new accounts.
  • Develop new prospects and interacts with existing customers to increase sales of EEC products and/or services.
  • Preparation of sales proposals, presenting information to customers and achieving sales quota for EEC offerings. 
  • Handle customer inquiries. 
  • Work with business development team members and regional management.  
  • Work closely with telemarketing to focus and effectively penetrate targeted areas / companies.
  • Identify decision makers and schedule appointments.
  • Perform onsite sales visits to clients and prospects, and effectively present information, assess equipment and facility service needs, and recommend EEC solutions.
  • Cold calling a key element of the job.  The ideal candidate is a real go-getter with a creative mind, and a can do attitude.
  • Perform systematic follow-up and close business – from confirming initial appointment through proposal follow-up to getting the PO and signed contract.
  • Coordinate with local Electrical & Mechanical contractors for lead opportunities.
  • Assess market, competition, and client needs and report information back to EEC corporate in an organized timely manner.
  • Attend local trade and customer forums promoting EEC’s products and services.
  • Identify and suggest marketing campaigns (direct mail, newsletters, etc) to help assigned business regions and/or markets grow.
  • Must utilize EEC CRM (Maximizer).

Associated Job Duties:
Assist with the following activities:

  • Assist with typing and preparation of sales proposals & presentation materials.
  • Assist to maintain regional EEC Database (Maximizer software) as strategic company asset.
  • Must take ownership of leads – following them from beginning to end of sales cycle.
  • Other responsibilities include, maintaining timely and accurate weekly opportunity sales reports, forecasts and updates as well as administering sales policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years Outside Sales experience in a technical environment.
  • Knowledge of the local IT industry is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage interpersonal relationships.
  • Independent, self-starter, driven and results oriented demeanor.
