Design, Build, Service firm receives 'Award of Merit' for outstanding achievement in accident prevention

MARLBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS,-- March 07, 2007 – Hartford Insurance recently presented Electronic Environments Corporation (EEC) with an ‘Award of Merit’ for outstanding achievement in accident and injury prevention, during 2006.  The award is presented to companies recognized as having an outstanding commitment to accident control and risk reduction.  Doug Markey, EEC’s Environmental and Safety Compliance Manager, was presented the award from Dennis E. Gardner, CSP, ALCM Executive Loss Control Consultant from Hartford Insurance.

The criteria taken into consideration for the award includes:  A companies safety record, the safety procedures a company follows to combat accidents, and those they implement after an incident occurs, to prevent reoccurrence.  EEC has undertaken many measures to reduce the risk of accidents to its workforce.  Most notably are its comprehensive safety and training programs: OSHA classes, radio frequency site safety, hazardous waste handling procedures and training, defensive driving, and many other equipment specific training programs.  EEC also holds its subcontractors to the highest safety standards, and manages the relationship according to its own safety benchmark. 

Due to the inherent dangers in EEC’s line of work the company must be dedicated to building and enforcing safety programs if they wish to be successful.  As testament to EEC’s commitment to workforce safety, 2006 was the fourth year running that EEC received the prestigious ABC Safety Training and Evaluation Program (STEP) award.
