Dear EEC Clients,
As you all are aware, Boston will be hosting the Democratic National Convention (DNC) July 26-29, 2004. EEC has numerous clients in the Boston area that will be affected by security concerns and traffic issues. As your service provider, we will make every effort to meet our response times. Please understand the security restrictions taking place are mandatory and may prevent us from meeting response times.
EEC wants to assure you that we are assembling plans to minimize delays expected with this event. Please understand that this event is designated as a National Special Security Event (NSSE), which means local AND federal agencies will be providing security. This obviously means severely reduced access to areas surrounding the convention and events taking place throughout the city. In the areas of high security, only credentialed personnel will be allowed. We will only have limited access, which will affect our abilities to respond to emergencies. Please be aware that accessibility is the main concern. Access through the tunnels will be minimal. Our service vehicles that carry diesel fuel and other materials will not be allowed into the city without authorization and are subject to random security checks. All this, as well as all the road closings and blocked exits, will severely interfere with our ability to get to you. EEC cannot plan for traffic and security delays. We are compiling information on the affected areas on a regular basis. Please understand, this is changing daily.
We will have additional service personnel available for emergency support. Our technicians who reside in and around the city will stay in this area for the duration of the conference.
If you haven’t already researched and would like to get more information pertaining to the DNC, please go to www.boston04.com. Again, please understand, we are required to follow the restrictions outlined. We will make every effort to respond to you, if needed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call.
