EEC has finished the final stage on the new 2,450 square foot data center they designed and built for Houghton Mifflin. The center is a state of the art environment designed with over 100 watts per square foot. Per Houghton Mifflin’s request, and expected growth, EEC’s engineers looked beyond today and designed the data center with the future in mind. There is room for a 640 square foot expansion if needed in the future, an extra pad was poured near the parallel generators to make room for a third, and an extra pad was also poured to provide expansion for the glycol coolers. Considering future energy demands and designing the center to handle growth offers the client considerable economic advantages and flexibility; enabling Houghton Mifflin to add capacity to the systems and add equipment to increase redundancy and improve overall system reliability.
