Finalist named for ACCA's 2003 Contractor Excellence Awards

ARLINGTON, VA – The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), the nation’s largest trade association representing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) contracting businesses, today announced the finalists for the association’s 2003 Excellence in Contracting Awards. Final award winners will be announced at ACCA’s 2003 Annual Conference in Palm Springs, held March 12-15, 2003.

“These HVACR businesses provide professional, quality services that set an example for the HVACR industry and raise the bar for businesses everywhere," said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA President and CEO.

In the “Excellence in Training” category, which recognizes contractors with a commitment to innovative training programs, finalists are: National Comfort Institute, Sheffield Lake, OH and Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., Rochester, NY.

Finalists for ACCA’s “Excellence in Residential Contracting Award” for companies with less than $1 million in revenues were: Eric Kjelshus Energy HVAC, Greenwood, MO and Northside Heating and Cooling, Benton, AR.

In the category of “Excellence in Residential Contracting” for companies with revenues of more than $1 million, finalists were: Atlas Butler Heating and Cooling, Columbus, OH; Gas Appliance Service, Seattle, WA; Mark E. Meacham, Inc., Charlton, MA; Newcomb and Company, Raleigh, NC; and Airco Service, Inc., Tulsa, OK.

Finalists for the “Excellence in Commercial Contracting Award” are: Tri-City Mechanical, Chandler, AZ; The Tyler Companies, Ijamsville, MD; Bruce Thornton Air Conditioning, Inc., Lubbock, TX; Electronic Environments Corporation, Canton, MA; and CHC Mechanical, Cookeville, TN.
