Sealed Cell Scope of Service

Annual Service, Major

Visual inspection:

• Jars.
  
• Connectors.
  
• Racks.
  
• Room.
  
• Check individual cell post seals, jars, and covers for leaks, cracks, or any other abnormalities. 

Check for corrosion build-up (trouble spots).

Measure, check, and record the following:

• DC float voltage.
  
• Positive to ground.
  
• Negative to ground.
  
• Total AC ripple voltage.
  
• Total AC ripple current.
  
• DC float voltage, individual jar if possible if not tray or pack.
  
• Conductance readings on individual jars only. 

Check and record room ambient temperature, verify proper operation of ventilation equipment, and room cleanliness.

AC ripple voltage, individual jar if possible if not tray or pack.

Clean cells and racks.

Re-torque all connections if possible.

Micro Ohm readings on jar to jar connections if possible see note *

Documentation of inspection with recommendations for any corrective action deemed necessary will be provided.

* Note: Most UPS applications do not allow enough room to obtain these readings however most DC plant applications do.

Semi-Annual Service, Minor

Visual inspection:

• Jars.
  
• Connectors.
  
• Racks.
  
• Room.

Check for corrosion build-up (trouble spots).

Measure, check, record, and adjust if necessary:

• DC float voltage.
  
• Positive to ground.
  
• Negative to ground.
  
• Total AC ripple voltage.
  
• Total AC ripple current.
• DC float voltage, individual jar if possible if not tray or pack.
  
• Conductance readings on individual jars only.
  
• AC ripple voltage, individual jar if possible if not tray or pack.

Check and record room ambient temperature, verify proper operation of ventilation equipment, and room cleanliness.

Quarterly Service, Minor

Visual inspection:

• Jars.
  
• Connectors.
  
• Racks.
  
• Room.

Check for corrosion build-up (trouble spots).

• DC float voltage.
  
• Positive to ground.
  
• Negative to ground.
  
• Total AC ripple voltage.
  
• Total AC ripple current.
  
• DC float voltage, individual jar if possible if not tray or pack.
  
• Conductance readings on individual jars only.
  
• AC ripple voltage, individual jar if possible if not tray or pack.

Check and record room ambient temperature, verify proper operation of ventilation equipment, and room cleanliness.

Documentation of inspection with recommendations for any corrective action deemed necessary will be provided.

Monthly Service, Minor

On a monthly basis, EEC will conduct a site inspection of all units and their environment looking for any unusual, or out of tolerance conditions.  EEC will inspect the interior and exterior of the equipment and verify proper operation.
